I worked with Mr Bigard (Charal 1 salesman), Mr Rey-Gorrez (TeamWork CEO), Justine Mettraux and Tanguy Cariou to set up the program up to the Vendée Globe 2024. Internally, I set up the TeamWork IMOCA project by creating a team dedicated to Justine. My role is to manage this project as if it were the only one in our stable!
I'm responsible for the boat on the water when Justine isn't there, and I'm also responsible for the technical aspects on land. I have to make sure that the boat is in good condition, and that it meets Justine's sporting, technical and safety requirements. On the water, in Justine's absence, I'm required to skipper the boat for technical outings or convoys.
I look after the sporting side of things. My job is to target the areas of work, the sailing content and to process the data to optimize the use of the IMOCA TeamWork. I also help Justine with the weather and strategy before the races. In 2023, I'll also be co-skipper of the IMOCA TeamWork alongside Justine!
I'm in charge of supplies for the boat (food, bedding, hygiene), and logistics for race starts and finishes (accommodation, meals, accreditations, etc.). I'm also responsible for decorating the team in our partners' colors.
I'm in charge of all communications, IT, electronics and electricity on board IMOCA TeamWork. I install all the systems on board, monitor their correct operation and anticipate any breakdowns so that Justine is able to resolve them on board.
As a general préparateur, I'm able to repair and prevent just about any problem on the IMOCA TeamWork. In fact, I'm the team's swiss army knife!
I'm in charge of checking all the boat's ropes, running and standing rigging. I also do the rope ends, and change sheaths or cores if necessary. Finally, I sail the boat to check that everything's running smoothly.
As a general rigger on the IMOCA TeamWork, I'm in charge of rigging and seamanship.
